Hello, Scott Countians! What a vibrant and thriving community we live and work in! I’m incredibly proud to be recognized as the Clerk of Scott County. Our county’s phenomenal growth and vitality are acknowledged and respected around the state. In keeping up with the demands of an ever-growing and changing community, my staff and I continue to work to bring you new services that are intended to make your life easier and your time spent with us more efficient.  It has been one of my main objectives as a county clerk, to bring added services and technology to meet the needs of our community, while recognizing the value of and retaining the feel of “small town” customer service.  Please be patient with us as we work to build and refine our new website to better serve you.

As we are approaching the end of 2024, I am reflecting on all the challenges and triumphs we have faced at the clerks office this year. In January, our Motor Vehicle Department braced for the new statewide KAVIS implementation. Delays and frustrations plagued our customers and staff for weeks, but with our customers understanding and patience, and our staffs determination, we worked closely with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and found our footing. We managed to get over the hurdles and the customer transactions have been running fairly smoothly since the Spring. Our ever-evolving election process was in full swing in May and soon we were once again bracing ourselves for an unprecedented voter turnout in November. So many entities and officials had an impact on the successful voting experience our community had during the Primary and General Elections! I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude to those people: the Scott County Fiscal Court for embracing and supporting our vision for a modernized voting plan in Scott County; Library Director, Patti Burnside and her attentive staff at the Scott County Public Library for accommodating every need we had during the weeks long process of training officers and conducting each election, with the public library serving as our primary voting location; EMA Director, Mike Hennigan, for helping us with his many years of experience and wisdom, to navigate new approaches and ideas anytime we asked, and offering resources such as digital signage for informing the public, and the EMA staff to assist by managing traffic concerns and handling any other public safety issues that arose at the library on Election Day; Scott County Road Department Georgetown Ky Director, JR Brandenburg and the wonderful staff who work hard to manage the distribution and collection of equipment, making every effort to insure a seamless setup and breakdown of each voting location on each and every election; Scott County Schools, Superintendent Billy Parker and Assistant Superintendent of Operations, Dwayne Ellison and the custodial staff at each school voting location, for being helpful and courteous, always working to anticipate our needs and finding ways to make the process as easy as possible for voters and our election officers; Sheriff Jeremy Nettles and the Scott Co. Ky. Sheriffs Office, and Georgetown Police Chief Darin Allgood and the Georgetown Police Department, for the assistance of deputies and officers made available to us on Election Day, to provide order and keep the voting process as safe and secure as always; Scott County Board of Elections Commissioners, Jim Horine and Pauline Shackleford and Jearl Porter, for approaching their responsibility with great reverence and continually working to maintain the integrity of the voting process; our Election Officers, both past and present, for accepting the call to serve our community through the election process by attending multiple training sessions and working long hours to make sure every voter has the opportunity to make their vote count and their voices be heard; Chip Clark, for providing both technical and logistical IT support to our office throughout Election Day and the end of night vote count process; and finally, the members of my Scott County Clerks Office staff, who rise to the occasion no matter what I ask of them, working tirelessly as a team to provide excellent customer service to our community in every capacity, and continually making me proud to be their Clerk! I also want to thank you, Scott County, for allowing me the honor of serving our vibrant, thriving community in this way, as your County Clerk. Thank you for another successful year in office. I look forward to continuing to serve you in 2025.
